Junior Livestock Show

· BREEDING BEEF HEIFER RULES ·

In addition to the General Rules, Exhibitors of breeding beef heifers must also comply with the following division specific rules:

Exhibitors are limited to five (5) entries.

Age eligibility will be in accordance with Houston Livestock Show rules, where the oldest eligible heifer’s birth date is 9/1/22.

Exhibitors are responsible for presenting official registration papers to the beef cattle Superintendent beginning at 5:00 and no later than 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Heifers will be assigned to classes as equally as possible by age within breed divisions.

Breed divisions and classes will be assigned by breed and birth dates as verified on official registration papers from the respective breed associations. Crossbred and unregistered heifers will be shown in the AOB and ABC division, where classes will be formulated based on weight of the heifers. The breed divisions and show order will be by alphabetical order according to the breeds represented at the Show.

Heifers must be halter broke.

No paint may be used except on the tail and below the knee and hock.

The use of adhesive is prohibited.

The heifer show will follow the swine show on Saturday.
