· MARKET GOAT RULES ·
In addition to the General Rules, Exhibitors of market goats must also comply with the following division specific rules:

Exhibitors are limited to 5 entries.

Both does and wethers are eligible to show and will show together by assigned weight class.

There are no minimum or maximum weight limits.

There is no tooth rule.

Hair must be slick shorn to a length not to exceed 3/4 inch.

Horns may be tipped and rounded. Goats with horns sharper than deemed safe by the goat Superintendent will be required to be tipped or rounded. Failure to comply will result in isolation of the goat and ineligibility to show.

Exhibitors are responsible for the weighing of their own animals and weight cards are due to the goat superintendent no later than 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Goats will be assigned to classes as equally as possible by weight within divisions.

At the Superintendent’s discretion, the top two (2) placing goats per class are subject to weigh back with a tolerance not to exceed 5 pounds of the weight claimed on the weight card.

The goat show will begin at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
